What is a postback and how do I configure it?

Setting up a postback allows you to send conversion data from our platform to your external tracker (like Binom, Keitaro, or others). This guide walks you through both global and targeted postback configuration options.

Global Postback Setup

Step 1: Log into your external tracker, generate a postback URL template, and copy it

Step 2: In your dashboard, go to Offers → Postbacks

  • Enter the Title and insert the URL from your tracker in the Postback URL field

Step 3: Paste your external tracker URL and replace its macros’ values with ours. This step is mandatory for the postback to work:

  • Required macros:

    1. {affClickId}: The ClickID. Connects the click and conversion.

    2. {cost}: The payout (your earnings from this conversion).

  • Optional macros:

    1. {trx}: Transaction ID for deduplication purposes.

    2. {goal}: The specific goal or action completed by the user.

For the correct macro mapping, always refer to your external system's documentation. Your account manager can also assist with this matter.

Step 4: Click 'Add postback' to save. If you only have one postback, it will be applied to all offers automatically. Otherwise, attach it to specific offers from the offer details page (Tracking → Available postbacks).

You can always edit existing postbacks in the List of postbacks.

Stop here or use Targeted postback for a specific offer.

Targeted Postback Setup

For more precise control, you can set up targeted postbacks that apply to specific offers and events. This option appears below the global postback setup in the New offer postback section:

Step 1: Select the specific goal (1, 2, or 3) that will trigger this postback. This allows you to track different conversion types separately.

Step 2: Choose the specific offer this postback should apply to.

The targeted postback will now fire only for the specified offer and goal combination. You can also remove and add more offers in the Targeted offers section:
